Birmingham City are back in League One action this weekend with a home clash against Bristol Rovers as they look to keep their momentum going.
Birmingham City are sat in 3rd place in the table behind Wycombe Wanderers and Wrexham.
They are eyeing an immediate promotion back to the Championship this season under the guidance of Chris Davies.
The Blues were relegated to the third tier in the last campaign after finishing in the bottom three with Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United.
Birmingham City team news
Birmingham City left-back Alex Cochrane is poised for a spell on the sidelines. Davies has said, as per BirminghamLive: “He’s got a nasty gash on his foot and he had to go to hospital and get that dealt with. He’s not going to be too long, we hope, but we’ll have to see how it settles down.”
However, Lee Buchanan is now available and got some minutes against Exeter City in the EFL Trophy last time out.
The Blues have received a boost with winger Emil Hansson back available. Davies has told BirminghamLive: “Emil is training with the team and has been for a week or so. He’s back fit and pretty much available.”
Meanwhile, Scott Wright, Alfons Sampsted and Alfie Chang remain out of action for the time being.
Starting XI
Allsop; Laird, Bielik, Klarer, Davies, Buchanan; Iwata, Paik; Harris, Stansfield; May
Ryan Allsop has made the number one spot his own at Birmingham City over recent times ahead of Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Ethan Laird will look to get up and down the right flank of defence, whilst it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Buchanan start with Cochrane unavailable.
The back three of Krystian Bielik, Christoph Klarer and Ben Davies will be looking to keep Bristol Rovers at bay and get a clean sheet.
In the heart of midfield, Tomoki Iwata and Paik Seung-ho have formed a solid parternship, with Marc Leonard providing back-up from the bench.
Jay Stansfield and Luke Harris will be eager to cause the Gas some issues and are two dangerous players at third tier level. It is unlikely that Hansson will be thrown straight back in.
Up front, Alfie May is likely to get the nod again ahead of the likes of Lyndon Dykes and Lukas Jutkiewics and he will aim to add to his goal tally. He joined the Blues in the summer from Charlton Athletic.
