Bolton Wanderers host Shrewsbury Town this weekend as the Trotters look to make it four consecutive wins in League One.

Bolton Wanderers have not had the start to the season they would have wanted, but they’ve started to find their feet again in recent games.

After losing in the play-off final last season, promotion is the aim for Wanderers who would have expected better than 11th place after eight games.

However, a win on Saturday could see Ian Evatt’s side move into the top six and with their opponents Shrewsbury Town currently second-bottom, a win is a must. They cruised past Northampton Town in the week to make it three in a row.

Paul Hurst’s Shrews are without a win in five games and a trip to the ToughSheet Community Stadium could see it become six.

Bolton Wanderers team news

Ian Evatt will be without four players for his side’s clash with Shrewsbury. The Bolton News report that summer signing Chris Forino, Carlos Mendes Gomes, Gethin Jones and Will Forrester are all out.

Forino suffered a hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup against Arsenal and will be out for three to four months as he has undergone surgery.

Mendes Gomes is close to a return and may feature in the EFL Trophy for Bolton Wanderers next week, the weekend comes just too quickly for the winger. Defensive duo Jones and Forrester are yet to feature this season but should be back after the international break.

Klaidi Lolos returned to the squad last time out against Northampton Town and remains available.

Predicted XI

(3-5-2)

Baxter; Toal, Santos, Johnston; Dacres-Cogley, Dempsey, Sheehan, Thomason, Schon; Charles, McAtee.

One change could be made by Ian Evatt but a similar side is expected to the impressive 4-2 win over Northampton Town.

The one change sees Dion Charles come in for Aaron Collins up top. Charles scored from the bench last weekend and has been the go-to man for Bolton Wanderers. Not only that, but the Northern Irishman has scored four in six against the Shrews.

Who is the manager of Blackpool?

After only conceding the two goals in stoppage time, Evatt will likely keep the same back three and keeper.

Jay Matete and Scott Arfield remain on the bench as their midfield three are forming a good partnership.

Szabolcs Schon will likely continue in the side amid his good form, keeping Randell Williams out the side.
