Coventry City are on the hunt for a new boss after the shock decision to part ways with Mark Robins.
The 54-year-old had been in charge of the club since March 2017 and in his second stint at the helm, he cemented himself as one of the most important managers in Sky Blues history.
It means there has been outrage amongst supporters over his departure and from the club’s perspective, the focus must quickly turn to finding a replacement. It has to be the right appointment too after such a controversial call to part ways with Robins.
Coventry City said in their statement they will take time to replace Robins, but it hasn’t taken long for links to emerge with a potential contender.
The Guardian reports that Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has been identified as an early leading candidate for the vacant post. His work with the Chairboys has put him on Championship radars, lifting them to the top of the League One table against the odds.
Wycombe and Bloomfield have won five straight games, thrashing Stockport County 5-0 on Tuesday.
