As per Charlton Athletic’s official website, striker Miles Leaburn is edging closer to his long-awaited return to the pitch which will be a big boost. Defender Josh Edwards is also making good progress with his recovery.

Jones has said: “[Miles Leaburn] is a lot closer in comparison to where he was before. We have to manage his minutes well. It was a serious injury, albeit a muscular one, so he has to by psychologically ready, and we have to get enough football into him so he can tolerate the physicality of League One football.

“We’re almost at full strength in terms of our squad with Josh Edwards and Miles coming back soon as well.”

Starting XI

Mannion; Ramsay, Edmonds-Green, Jones, Gillesphey, Small; Docherty, Coventry, Campbell; Ahadme, Kanu.

Goalkeeper Will Mannion has made the number one spot his own so far in this campaign ahead of Ashley Maynard-Brewer following his switch from fellow third tier side Cambridge United.

Wing-back Kayne Ramsay and Thierry Small like to get up and down the flanks, whilst it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Addicks stick with Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey as their back three in the heart of defence.

In midfield, skipper Greg Docherty has made a positive impression since his summer switch to The Valley and he is likely to start again along with Conor Coventry and Allan Campbell.

Up front, Gassan Ahadme and Dan Kanu will be looking to cause Stevenage some problems. Matty Godden, Tyreece Campbell and Chuks Aneke are other options that Charlton Athletic can call upon too if they wish to freshen things up.
