Wrexham star Ryan Barnett has opened up on how happy he is at the Racecourse with Stoke City and Preston said to be on his trail.

Wrexham wing-back Ryan Barnett has been in flying form this season and it hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Stoke City and Preston North End credited with interest last month.

It was claimed the Championship pair are keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old amid his starring role on the Red Dragons’ right-hand side. Barnett has a goal and five assists to his name in 16 games across all competitions for Phil Parkinson’s side.

After working his way back to the EFL after leaving Shrewsbury Town for Solihull Moors in the summer of 2021, Barnett has proven he can be a standout in League One.

Now, despite attracting admiring glances from the likes of Stoke City and Preston, Barnett has spoken of just how happy he is with Wrexham amid his impressive form.

Speaking to the Evening Leader, the star wing-back said:

“I am loving it.

“The manager gives me that freedom when I go forward and gives me that confidence to take people on. All the lads have got that belief in me as well and that is all you can ask for in football.

“You want to be confident, you want to be happy, and I am in a really good spot at the moment.”
