Luton Town near £3m deal for Wigan Athletic star

Luton Town are closing on a deal for Wigan Athletic star Thelo Aasgaard with further talks and a medical planned, as per reporter Pete O’Rourke.
Luton Town are looking to strengthen their squad for a Championship relegation fight.
A change has been made in the dugout with Matt Bloomfield replacing Rob Edwards, but the managerial switch is yet to bring an improvement in results. The Hatters sit 23rd in the Championship table as a result and are fighting against shock consecutive relegations.
As said though, Bloomfield is being backed in the transfer market, and the Bedfordshire club are now closing on the signing of a sought-after star.
According to reporter Pete O’Rourke, Luton Town are poised to sign attacking midfielder Thelo Aasgaard from League One side Wigan Athletic.
A deal in excess of £3m is in place and the Norwegian prodigy is now set for talks with the Hatters and a medical.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a standout for the Latics in League One with many tipping him for a step up to the Championship. Aasgaard now looks set to get that opportunity with Luton Town as they look to wrap up a deal for his services.
