Millwall are considering Walsall’s Mat Sadler for their managerial position but Northampton Town are also keen, as per Football Insider.

Millwall are on the lookout for a new manager after confirming Neil Harris will leave the club.

The decision for Harris to depart was a mutual one announced earlier this week. He oversaw the midweek clash with Sheffield United afterwards and will see out his second spell at The Den with this weekend’s game against Middlesbrough.

Harris overseeing the two games immediately after his exit hopefully gives the Lions some time to identify their targets and move swiftly, avoiding a long spell without a permanent boss.

Now, with several linked early on, a new name has emerged as a Millwall contender.

According to Football Insider, the Championship club are considering Walsall manager Mat Sadler for the post in South London. The 39-year-old has impressed with his work at the League Two club and could earn a move up the ladder.

Interestingly though, Sadler has another admirer in managerless Northampton Town, who recently saw Jon Brady move on. While not offering the jump that a Millwall move would, the Cobblers are a league above the Saddlers in League One.
