Sunderland goalkeeper Nathan Bishop is closing in on a loan move to Wycombe Wanderers, as per a report by the Northern Echo.

Sunderland are poised to cut ties with the stopper on a temporary basis ahead of the 2024/25 season. They no longer require his services after snapping up Simon Moore following his exit from fellow Championship side Coventry City.

Bishop, 24, made the move to the Stadium of Light last year and has since been used as back-up behind Anthony Patterson. He has since made two first-team appearances and is under contract with the North East outfit for another two years running until June 2026.

According to the Northern Echo, he is set to link up with Wycombe Wanderers in League One to get some game time under his belt. The Chairboys finished 10th in the table in the last campaign and were 11 points off the play-offs in the end.
