Bolton Wanderers host Burton Albion at the ToughSheet Stadium this weekend as club football returns after the international break.

Bolton Wanderers did not have the start to the season that they wanted. However, over the past four League One games, they have picked up 10 points as they look to turn their fortunes around.

Ian Evatt had found himself under a lot of pressure early in the season but things are looking up for the Trotters. Over the last four games they have scored 13 goals and forward Dion Charles has hit form, scoring four of his own in that period.

Burton Albion meanwhile have had a very poor start to the season and are currently 23rd in the table.

The Brewers are winless so far this season and have picked up just one point in their last five games, conceding nine in their last three. After a big summer makeover and the appointment of Mark Robinson, things have gone far from as hoped for the club.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Charlie Hodgson

Bolton Wanderers will be furious if they don’t come away with all three points against Burton Albion, but after failing to beat Shrewsbury last time out you simply can’t rule that out.

“However, I just can’t see the Brewers picking up points right now. They seem to be leaking goals left right and centre and aren’t scoring to back that up.

“With that said, I think this could be a big win for Bolton. They’ve been scoring for fun recently and against a leaky defence, they could go out and batter the visitors.”

Prediction: Bolton Wanderers 4-0 Burton Albion

James Ray

“Nothing less than a win will do for Bolton Wanderers here. Burton Albion are in a bit of a sorry state with their summer makeover yet to yield results and with Evatt’s side gaining momentum, they might be on the receiving end of another defeat here.

“I do think it is worth noting that Evatt’s ban means he won’t be in the dugout this weekend. That could have the Brewers sniffing out chances to unsettle the hosts.

“However, to be honest, I don’t think they have the quality to do that. I’m going for a straightforward home win.”

Prediction: Bolton Wanderers: 3-0 Burton Albion
