Chesterfield have signed Janoi Donacien following the end of his contract at Ipswich Town last summer, as announced by their official club website.
Chesterfield have snapped up the defender on a free transfer. He has linked up with the League Two side on a deal until the end of the season.
Donacien, 31, saw his deal at Ipswich Town expire last June. He has since stayed put with the Tractor Boys though to train and keep up his fitness levels.
After signing for the Spirerites, he has told their website: “It feels good to have got it all done and I’m ready to go. I’ve been in contact with the gaffer and ‘KD” (Kieron Dyer) for a while now and they’ve been keeping tabs on me.
“He (Paul Cook) brought me back in and he helped me a lot. It will be good to play under him again.”
Chesterfield have also brought in attacker Aribim Pepple from Luton Town. He has recently been recalled from his loan at Southend United.
