Southampton defender Zach Awe was watched by six Championship clubs last week, according to reporter Alan Nixon on Patreon.

Southampton’s youngster is currently out on loan at Accrington Stanley in League Two and has caught the eye with the North West outfit. He is due to spend the whole season with John Doolan’s side and they are currently sat in 18th place in the table, five points above the drop zone.

Awe, 20, was given the green light to join the Lancashire club in the last transfer window to get some experience under his belt. He has settled in well over recent months and has made 20 appearances in all competitions, 16 of which have come in the league.

In this latest update regarding his situation, journalist Nixon has claimed on his Patreon page that the player has alerted the attention of teams in the second tier with his performances.
