Notts County in talks to sign Everton man

Notts County are in discussions to sign Everton youngster Charlie Whitaker on a permanent deal, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke on X.
Notts County are keen on luring the prospect to Meadow Lane this winter. They are currently sat in 6th place in the League Two table and are in the play-offs along with Port Vale, AFC Wimbledon and Doncaster Rovers.
Whitaker, 21, has risen up through the academy ranks at Everton since joining them from Blackburn Rovers. He is out of contract at the end of the season though and is due to become available as a free agent this summer as things stand.
In this latest update regarding his situation by reporter O’Rourke on X, the Magpies are in ‘advanced talks’ to snap him up this month.
Notts County beat Swindon Town 2-0 at home last time out after two goals by attacker David McGoldrick to boost their promotion push.
