Notts County have won the race to sign Cardiff City striker Michael Reindorf on loan, as per Pete O’Rourke.
Notts County are set to add an attacking reinforcement to their ranks this week. NCFC sit 6th in League Two, just two points off second, but also just two off 8th.
The club have adapted well to life back in the Football League and they are in a strong position to go and finish inside the play-offs this season.
However, with a lot of football still to be played it is vital clubs strengthen appropriately during the January window to ensure they don’t fall short come May.
Reindorf, 19, has featured in four first team games for Cardiff City this season, getting an assist in their defeat against Southampton. He has spent most of his time in the U21 side since joining from Norwich City in the summer.
So far this season he has seven goals and one assist in four outings for Cardiff City’s U21.
Now, he looks set for a loan move which should see him exposed to more regular first team football. O’Rourke is reporting that Notts County have won the race for the prospect.
Finding his feet
Reindorf is yet to really prove himself in a first team environment and the Bluebirds could do with him doing so before they begin selecting him more consistently.
A move to the fourth tier should give the forward a chance to do just that. The Englishman will be hoping he can hit the ground running at Notts County helping them to secure a top seven finish in League Two.
Some good performances between now and the end of the season could put him well in the frame to be considered within Cardiff City’s first team during next pre-season.
Looking forward
Notts County are in action tonight against a struggling Carlisle United side.
It’s a great chance for Notts County to add another three points to their tally and extend their unbeaten run to four.
Cardiff City are enjoying an up-turn in form at the minute. Seven unbeaten in the Championship has seen them pull slightly away from the relegation zone. However, they are not safe yet and it still looks set to be a battle between now and the end of the season.
Up next for the Bluebirds is an away trip to Elland Road to face the league leaders Leeds United this Saturday.
