Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa (27) is looking for a way out of Merseyside for this winter transfer window, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The 27-year-old Italy international has found playing time increasingly limited under the tutelage of Dutch head coach Arne Slot. Chiesa only featured four times with the high-flying Reds, including twice in the Carabao Cup. The outlet understands that the son of Enrico Chiesa is looking to kickstart his career back into action with a loan move as early as this winter. Liverpool would not oppose Chiesa’s temporary exit.

The outlet adds that Antonio Conte’s Napoli are the favorites to land the Euro 2020 winner with Italy. Inter Milan and Fiorentina are also looking to bring Chiesa back to Serie A. However, Chiesa’s Liverpool wages could hinder negotiations and the Reds would be asked to cover part of his salary.

Foot Mercato adds that Chiesa does not intend to part ways with Liverpool only months after signing a four-year contract with the Premier League side. But Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti reportedly convinced Chiesa to try a move back to Serie A to regain confidence and match fitness, promising him a return to La Squadra.
