Former Stade Rennais and AJ Auxerre winger Paul-Georges Ntep (32) has announced his retirement from football in an interview with France Bleu

Ntep made his debut in the 2010/11 season for his formative club, Auxerre during their 4-0 victory over Bastia in the Coupe de la Ligue. The winger was also included in the club's Champions League squad that season but made an appearance off the bench.

It was at his next club Rennes (2014-2017) that Ntep caught the imagination and saw him earn two caps for France. However, a move to VFL Wolfsburg saw Ntep's rise stall and the winger earned no more international appearances with Les Bleus. In 2018, Ntep would earn his first of four caps for the Cameroon national team.

Ntep has not played football since March 2024, when he made his final appearance for Vietnamese side Ho Chi Minh City. In February, there were reports that the club were considering terminating his contract early due to his underwhelming performances.

However, Ntep revealed that he had a positive time at his final club, "In my mind, I've moved on and I have other projects. I enjoyed what I experienced, I enjoyed Vietnam. But for me, football today is just good memories, but it's over."
