'According to my information': Fabrizio Romano says 'movements have started' for one Liverpool deal this summer

After their Champions League exit last week, Liverpool have only nine games of their season remaining.
It can still be a magnificent end to the campaign for the Reds, as they aim for a second Premier League title in five years.
While full focus should be on making sure the trophy comes home to Anfield, though, Liverpool are right to have one eye on the summer transfer market in the meantime.
The Reds are expected to be busy in the window, with Arne Slot finally beginning to shape the Liverpool squad in his image.
Part of that is set to be finding the right player to lead the line for the Reds.
And as Liverpool continue to be linked with Alexander Isak, journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the wheels are now in motion for Darwin Nunez to vacate his position at Anfield.
Darwin Nunez exit takes step closer
There are several areas of the Liverpool team which do badly need to be upgraded this summer. But, of them all, centre-forward is perhaps top of that list.
And as the sun begins to set on Nunez’s rollercoaster career with the Reds, Romano says movements have already taken place to ensure the Uruguayan leaves.
“We expect Darwin Nunez to be one of the names to watch in the summer,” the transfer expert told his YouTube channel on Wednesday.
“And there is movement, the movements have already started around Darwin Nunez.”
“According to my information, Darwin was already very open to joining Al Nassr in January,” Romano adds.
“He was ready to say yes to Saudi, ready to say yes to the project and then Liverpool decided to keep him in the current squad and not change anything.”
Liverpool drawing up striker shortlist
As well as reporting that Nunez is looking virtually certain to go this summer, Romano also gave an insight into how Liverpool are preparing to replace him, suggesting that they have been putting plans in place since the winter window.
“There was no player available in January in terms of their own transfer targets,” says the journalist on why Liverpool decided to keep Darwin.

“They have a list for the summer but those players weren’t available so they decided against investing money in a player they didn’t 100 per cent trust in January and to wait for the summer.
“Now let’s see what happens with Darwin. European clubs, Saudi clubs and more [are interested]. There will be movement and my sources keep telling me that the expectation is for Darwin to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window and people close to him are exploring the possibilities.”
It remains to be seen how much game time Nunez will get during the final nine games of the campaign. But, whatever happens, it seems probable that his final match will come on May 25th against Crystal Palace.
Hopefully it’s followed by the enigmatic number nine hoisting the Premier League trophy aloft.
