Harvey Elliott has had a frustrating season with Liverpool with the midfielder spending the majority of the campaign out injured.

The former Fulham wonderkid injured his foot in the September international break with England’s U-21s, with Elliott still recovering having not played a single game for club or country for the past month.

With just one substitute appearance all season, Elliott’s injury came at the worst possible time given how packed Liverpool’s September schedule was, with things only ramping up for the Reds once the October international break is over.

Yet Elliott has now hinted that he could soon be back in action.

Elliott shares social media post in Liverpool training

Taking to his official Instagram stories, the 21-year-old midfielder posted a word-less picture of himself working out in Liverpool training, with Elliott still on Merseyside whilst the majority of his teammates are away on international duty.

With the news that Alisson Becker could be out for Liverpool for as long as two months, Elliott’s return will be a welcome sight for the Reds having lost a key player in the Brazilian international this week.

Indeed, Elliott is one of Liverpool’s most exciting young players and could become a real favourite for Arne Slot once the midfielder is back to full fitness and competing for a spot in the starting XI once again.

And with Elliott pushing himself hard in the gym, it might not be long before the England youth international is back on the pitch, with Liverpool’s schedule only getting more difficult after the October break.

Elliott will want to make a statement once back in action

Although Slot has his settled midfield three, the season is still early enough where the likes of Elliott can disrupt the status quo and look to make a claim for himself in becoming part of the starting XI.

And given how driven and determined Elliott is as a player, the former Fulham man will aim to do just that once he’s declared fit enough to start for Liverpool, which could now be in a matter of weeks.

Indeed, Elliott can become a star for Liverpool under Slot, and the 21-year-old knows he has the potential to become one of the Reds’ most important players if he can return his season with a bang having missed a month of action.
