Arne Slot suggests 'excellent' Liverpool player will start against West Ham after what he did vs Bournemouth

Liverpool continued their strong start to life under Arne Slot with a 3-0 Premier League win against Bournemouth.

Slot has guided Liverpool to four wins from five Premier League matches, with four clean sheets kept from those four victories.

Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were the heroes in the latest win at Anfield, with the latter scoring a wonder goal after a double from the former.

Diaz is set for a new Liverpool contract amid his superb start to the season, with the Colombian currently on five goals and one assist.

Nunez meanwhile struggled for minutes before the visit of Bournemouth, but he certainly proved himself to Slot with his superb strike.

Andy Robertson labelled Nunez 'excellent' following the Premier League clash, which leaves the Reds on 12 points from a possible 15.

Slot made a big decision to start Nunez against the Cherries, with Diogo Jota left on the bench, but it definitely didn't backfire.

And as per BBC Sport, when asked how the Uruguayan can become a regular starter, Slot responded: "I think you get consistency by two things. You get it by work-rate and you get it by team performance.

"If the team performance is not consistent, it’s so difficult for an individual to be consistent as well. We have to create our habits day by day on the training ground. [Nunez] showed a good game today. Maybe he can show it again on Wednesday."

Slot and his players have very little time to celebrate the win, with West Ham travelling to Anfield on Wednesday.

Liverpool welcome their Premier League rivals to Merseyside for a League Cup third round clash, with Slot certainly able to select a very strong XI despite the busy schedule.

And that could involve a start for Nunez, who should be relatively fresh after being withdrawn in the 72nd minute of what was his first start of the season.

Among the other attackers in with a great chance of starting against the Hammers are Federico Chiesa, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota.

The superb strength in depth should also be on show elsewhere, with the likes of Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Curtis Jones all very likely to feature from the start.
