'Bad time': Mohamed Salah makes Man City prediction after Liverpool open up eight-point Premier League gap
Today at 04:00 AM
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah continued his stunning season as his brace helped the Reds beat Southampton 3-2 on Sunday.
Arne Slot praised his Liverpool substitutes after the win, having introduced Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo from the bench.
But it was Salah who was the Liverpool hero at St Mary's, with the attacker scoring a double after Dominik Szoboszlai's opener.
Szoboszlai wants to keep playing with Salah, who worryingly sees his Anfield contract expire at the end of the season.
The winger now has 10 goals from his 12 Premier League appearances this season, with his latest two helping Liverpool move eight points clear at the top of the table.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah makes Man City prediction
Their superb form under Slot has coincided with a drop in form from Man City, who were beaten 4-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Liverpool and Egypt forward Salah is, however, expecting Pep Guardiola's side to bounce back in the near future.

Speaking of his club's position, Salah told Sky Sports: "It's [a] great [feeling]. Hopefully we keep going in this direction. We have a game against [City next] so hopefully we win it and go ahead [of them] more, 11 points.
"Man City is Man City – they had a bad time now but they are going to strike back. They have a great coach, great players. Hopefully we can beat them and go further [ahead]."
What are Liverpool's next fixtures in all competitions?
As Salah mentioned, it is Man City up next in Premier League action for Liverpool, with the former taking on the latter at Anfield on Sunday.
Before that, however, there is the small matter of a Champions League tie against Real Madrid, who travel to Merseyside on Wednesday.

The very tricky fixtures don't stop there, with Liverpool then taking on Newcastle United, Everton and Girona, all away from home.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 12 | 10 | 6 |
Champions League | 4 | 1 | 4 |
League Cup | 2 | 1 | 0 |
Total | 18 | 12 | 10 |
It is a really key period for Slot, who thus far has exceeded all expectations since taking over from Jurgen Klopp.
The Anfield faithful will, however, be wise not to get carried away at this moment in time, with Man City more than capable of once more going on a fine run after the Christmas period.
