Liverpool enjoyed another unforgettable Champions League night at Anfield as they overcame Real Madrid 2-0.

Jude Bellingham thinks Liverpool 'took control' at Anfield, with the Reds winning thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.

Arne Slot has now guided Liverpool to five wins from five in the Champions League, the only club with a 100% record.

And the Dutchman has also enjoyed success in the Premier League, with Liverpool top of the table after 12 matches.

Up next in the competition are defending champions and second-placed Manchester City, who travel to Anfield on Sunday.

Chris Sutton makes Caoimhin Kelleher claim after Liverpool beat Real Madrid

Caoimhin Kelleher says Liverpool are confident for the Man City test, with the goalkeeper having produced another phenomenal display against Real Madrid.

The Republic of Ireland international made several world-class stops, including keeping out a penalty from Kylian Mbappe.

But that stop didn't exactly surprise Chris Sutton, with the pundit saying on BBC Radio 5 Live: "You look at the goalkeeping position – Caoimhin Kelleher has always been outstanding, he’s got a brilliant temperament. In many respects it was not a great surprise to see him save a penalty."

Caoimhin Kelleher in extraordinary situation at Liverpool

Kelleher continues to shine in the absence of regular number one Alisson, with the injured Brazilian having watched his deputy's display from the stands.

It is truly an extraordinary situation at Anfield, with the former simply far too good to be playing second fiddle when the latter returns to action.

As per Sofascore, Kelleher made three saves and one successful run out against Real Madrid, preventing 1.47 goals.

He was a brick wall against one of the best attacks in European football, helped out massively by his defenders.

Another top-class performance will be needed to keep out the likes of Erling Haaland on Sunday, although Slot should have every confidence in his sensational number two.

Unfortunately, however, Kelleher is likely to want to move on from Liverpool in the very near future, with the Anfield faithful set to accept that decision given his superb service over the years.
