Liverpool have started the new season under Arne Slot in great form, with the Reds winning seven of their eight games in all competitions.

Although Liverpool’s one loss was a historic one against Nottingham Forest, the Anfield side have been exceptional under their new Dutch manager, who has succeeded Jurgen Klopp in a manner few fans or pundits would have expected.

And one of the keys to Slot’s success has been how he has gotten the best out of a number of Liverpool players who weren’t fully performing under Klopp, namely Ryan Gravenberch, who Jamie Carragher has this season compared to Patrick Vieira.

And Alexis Mac Allister has now praised another Liverpool player who has impressed under Slot this season.

Luis Diaz’s form this season ‘amazing’ for Liverpool under Slot

Speaking to the press ahead of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash against Bologna, the Argentine international showered Luis Diaz with praise after the winger’s incredible start to the season.

Diaz has been one of the in-form players in the Premier League this campaign with five goals in six games for the Reds, with the Colombia international making the left-wing position his own in the Liverpool attack.

And Mac Allister has enjoyed what Diaz has produced this season, with the midfielder saying: “I think he knows how important the numbers are for strikers and wingers, and I’m very happy he’s getting the goals and the assists.

“He’s been amazing for us, and I think he can still improve whilst still playing the way he does. I think consistency is key, and hopefully he can show during the year what a fantastic player he is.”

Diaz could be key to Liverpool winning silverware this season

Diaz’s form for Liverpool since signing from FC Porto has always been hit and miss, yet this season has seen the 27-year-old hit new heights in Slot’s system with the attacker now a real threat in the Premier League.

The Colombia superstar is enjoying his best football yet for the Reds with Diaz becoming a focal point in the attack alongside Mohamed Salah, who has also remained his usual world-class self under Slot.

And in the Dutch coach’s quest to win silverware this season, Diaz could be key for the Reds, with the winger always looking for ways to become a main figure for Liverpool, something the attacker could finally achieve this campaign.
