Liverpool maintained their flawless record in the UEFA Champions League this season as they secured a 4-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield.
Luis Diaz emerged as the star of the show with his first Reds hat-trick as he produced a stunning showing in the second half to put Xabi Alonso’s side to the sword.
His third goal, in particular, was the talk of the town, as he produced a ‘no-look’ finish to rub salt into the wounds of the reigning Bundesliga champions.
The no-look finish was a Roberto Firmino trademark as he pulled that trick out of his sleeve a handful of times over his decorated Anfield career.
And the Brazilian has reacted to Diaz’s exploits after he took a leaf out of his playbook.

The Colombian produced arguably his best performance for Liverpool in what turned out to be a special night for him.
Diaz became the seventh Liverpool player to score a Champions League hat-trick, with Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota the only players in the current squad to have achieved that feat.
After the game, he took to Instagram to post a series of pictures after he was named Player of the Match.
James Rodriguez lauded Diaz in the comments section, while a handful of other players also got in on the act.
Firmino left a comment that translates to ‘No look goal done. I saw little hand… big hug 😁🙏🏼 🔥🔥🔥’ to which Diaz responded, ‘I learned a lot from you Manito..! a big hug ❤️ 🔥’.
Diaz and Firmino played together for a season and a half before the Brazilian left in the summer of 2023 to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
Liverpool looking to extend Diaz’s contract
Barcelona were interested in signing Diaz in the summer but a transfer never materialised as the Catalan giants were in a dire state financially.
The Colombian has kicked on under Arne Slot and has already scored nine goals across all competitions this season, emerging as Liverpool’s top scorer so far.
However, with his current deal set to expire in 2026, Liverpool want to extend Diaz’s contract as they aim to keep hold of the 27-year-old who has performed admirably under the new manager.
