'In contact': Stefan Bajcetic shares what Liverpool are saying to him 'every week' during his loan at Salzburg

Liverpool have gotten by just fine with the squad they have during the early part of this season.
There had been valid concerns heading into the campaign that the Reds simply had not done enough in the transfer window to build on a third place finish last term.
Furthermore, some supporters were worried that Liverpool were letting too many players leave.
Stefan Bajcetic was one who, if given the choice, most fans would have kept to be a part of Arne Slot’s first Liverpool squad.
However, having watched the Spaniard closely in pre-season Slot decided that Bajcetic needed a loan.
Since then, the 20-year-old has been learning and developing back under the guidance of former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders at RB Salzburg. And having settled in at the Austrian club, Bajcetic has spoken out on his spell so far.
Stefan Bajcetic reveals Liverpool contact
Upon sending him out on-loan, Slot confirmed that Bajcetic was in his long-term thinking at Liverpool.
The Spain U21 international looked an enormous talent when breaking through in 2022/23 and only injuries have prevented him from playing more games for the Reds.
As Liverpool ponder whether to bring in Martin Zubimendi as the missing piece in their midfield jigsaw, Bajcetic could still be that player.
Happily, it sounds as though the Reds may well think so, too.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Marca for an interview on Friday, Bajcetic was asked if Liverpool are ‘attentive’ to him during his loan with Salzburg.
“Yes, yes, they are in contact with me practically every week,” answered the youngster.
“They are asking me how I am and physically giving me gym guidelines so as not to relapse [with injury].”
What else did Stefan Bajcetic say?
While it is still a shame that we have not seen much of Bajcetic at Liverpool over the past 18 months, he is undoubtedly better off getting his match fitness back elsewhere.
Looking at the way Slot has dealt with his midfielders this season, it is clear that Bajcetic would have barely played. His circumstance is similar to Tyler Morton, for example, who has featured for just 72 minutes this term.
Minutes | Pass Accuracy % | Successful Dribbles % | Duels Won % | Interceptions | |
Bundesliga | 423 | 81.2 | 68.8 | 62.5 | 1.06 |
Champions League | 128 | 85.7 | 75 | 52.9 | 0.7 |
“After such a long injury I need to play,” Bajcetic told Marca. “I made the decision to go to Salzburg because I thought I was going to get minutes and I’m getting them.”
Recent rumours suggested that Serbia were trying to poach Bajcetic to switch and play for them over Spain. And the Reds No.43 also shut that down during his interview.
“I was born in Spain, I grew up in Spain, my family is from Spain and I feel very Spanish, very proud to represent Spain,” he said.
