The November international break should give Liverpool the chance firm up some plans for the upcoming transfer window.

It has been an excellent start to the season for Arne Slot and the Reds, but 2025 could see them need to make a big splash in the transfer market.

As things stand, Liverpool are set to lose Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold on free transfers at the end of the campaign.

Supporters are hopeful that one, two or even all three players will still be part of the Liverpool squad next season.

But as the clock ticks down, the Reds need to put together a plan on how they can replace each of these key players.

Given that he’s once again Liverpool’s top goal scorer and top assister this term, Salah could be the trickiest one for the Reds to find a replacement for. Nevertheless, Liverpool are dutifully scouring the market.

Liverpool thinking about Mohammed Kudus move

There are not many forwards in world football who can offer what Salah does for Liverpool.

The Egyptian is one of the best players in Liverpool history and should he go, the Reds will be a far worse side without him.

Given their lack of natural, left-footed successor within the current squad, Liverpool would surely have to go into the market to do their best with finding a replacement.

And according to The Daily Mail, West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus is one of those on Liverpool’s radar.

They claim that the Reds are ‘believed to be carefully considering’ a move for Kudus next summer.

However, any deal for the 24-year-old will not come cheap. West Ham will reportedly ‘stand firm’ and demand Kudus’ full £85m release clause be paid if he is to leave the London Stadium.

Although this is described as being potentially ‘prohibitive’ – and Kudus is settled enough at West Ham – it is claimed that the Ghanaian would be ‘fully open’ to the idea of leaving for a Champions League club.

Mohammed Kudus too pricey for Liverpool

Kudus has been linked with Liverpool plenty of times in the past and as one of the few, top level left-footed forwards he is certainly worth considering.

Now into his second season in the Premier League Kudus is proven in the division and also has experience in the Champions League with Ajax.

Having said that, there seems little chance that Liverpool will see the West Ham man as an £85m player.

After 10 games this season he has just two goals and despite claims that Kudus could become a ‘superstar‘ who’s better than Salah, that is not bearing out in his numbers.

Unless the Ghana international steps this up considerably before the end of the season, it feels likely that Liverpool will see better value elsewhere.
