Jordan Henderson sends wordless message to Virgil van Dijk after Liverpool's draw vs Arsenal

Liverpool secured a 2-2 draw away from home against Arsenal, with Virgil van Dijk on the scoresheet for the Reds.

The Netherlands international found the back of the net in the first-half to make the score 1-1 after Gary Neville had criticised Van Dijk for a ‘stupid’ foul on Declan Rice, with the Liverpool defence struggling against Arsenal.

Despite this, Liverpool managed to come away from the tie with a point after Mohamed Salah’s late equaliser, with the Reds now sat second in the Premier League standings with Manchester City getting the job done against Southampton on Saturday.

And former captain Jordan Henderson has sent a message to Van Dijk after the defender’s display at the Emirates Stadium.

Henderson impressed by Van Dijk’s Liverpool performance vs Arsenal

Writing on Instagram, Henderson sent Van Dijk an emoji message praising the Liverpool skipper’s display against Arsenal, with Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz sending similar posts to the 33-year-old centre-back.

With Carragher telling Van Dijk to show more intensity for Liverpool, it was certainly a mixed performance for the former Southampton defender in north London, who despite scoring a key goal could have done better at the back for the Reds.

Indeed, Liverpool as a whole were disappointing against Arsenal, who on another day with better finishing could have taken Arne Slot’s side to the cleaners and deliver a devastating result for the Anfield giants.

However, Liverpool’s good form remains intact heading into November, and fans know that next month will be crucial in the Premier League title race if the Merseyside club are to keep up the pace with City.
