A look back at the key moments in Liverpool's come from behind victory over Leicester City in Premier League action.

Liverpool 3 - 1 Leicester City

Reds: Gakpo 45+1', Jones 49', Salah 82'
Foxes: Ayew 6'

Pre-Match

Liverpool got an unexpected gift from Fulham, who came from behind to take all three points away from Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool can now go a full 7 points clear at the top of the pile, having still played a game rest than everyone outside of Merseyside.

Darwin and Jones return to the starting lineup, but that leaves plenty of firepower on the bench: Szoboszlai, Elliott, Jota, Diaz, and Chiesa are all attacking options off the bench.

First Half

OK so they said it would be foggy, and it is foggy.

Liverpool did not seem to be in such a hurry to start the match, but in a flash they moved through the gear and created a flurry of great chances, one of which required the point-blank intervention of Leicester's keeper. It looks like getting in will not be a problem.

Which is good because Always The Hard Way FC just conceded a bit of a fluky goal.

It hasn't been the greatest response by Liverpool—they're hardly peppering the goal—but Leicester haven't looked like scoring either. A few crosses have flashed across the face of goal, but they haven't been clinical enough in picking out the final pass.

Just as it looks like Liverpool will go in the break down a goal, Cody Gakpo says "fuck this," and goes top bin with a curler from just outside the box!

Before the goal, I wouldn't have been opposed to halftime subs for Robbo, Gakpo, and Darwin. That still might be the answer, although the whole team needs to be a little more clinical, and move the ball around much quicker.

Second Half

Liverpool start the second half on fire, and within 5 minutes Curtis Jones gets the goal that had been coming. It's a fantastic move, and one that PGMOL's finest are desperate to chalk off considering the several minutes of VAR reviews following the goal.

After the go-ahead goal, the Reds make sure that not much happens for about 20 minutes. It appeared that Gakpo scored a third, but there was another lengthy VAR check which went against the home side this time.

Slot makes his first subs with about 15 minutes to go, bringing on Jota and Szoboszlai for Nunez and Jones.

Well, these days it's not a Liverpool match until Mo has his say, and Mo just had his say. He scored with a phenomenal curler from a tight angle that just crept into the far corner.

Slot makes two more subs: bringing Endo on for Gravenberch, and Tsimikas on for Robertson.

Final Thoughts

After a rocky start, the Reds came from behind and were deserved winners on the night. They are now 7 points clear going into the final match of 2024, with nearly half the season gone. Up the fucking Reds.
