Liverpool moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League after a 2-0 win against Aston Villa at Anfield.
After Manchester City’s shock 2-1 defeat to Brighton earlier today, the Reds made it count with a clinical showing thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
The Uruguayan, however, endured what was an eventful night as Liverpool fans delivered a mixed verdict on his performance.
Darwin Nunez scores but misses two glorious chances for Liverpool
Nunez broke the deadlock in what went down as an interesting passage of play.
The Reds broke quickly from a Villa corner and Salah was clean through on goal, but the Egyptian was fouled by Leon Bailey as it looked like play would be stopped.
However, the referee played advantage and Nunez took the ball past Emi Martinez between the sticks for Villa to score what turned out to be a priceless goal for Liverpool.

However, as the game went on, he missed a one-on-one vs Martinez as he blazed it over the crossbar, while he also missed a close-range header early in the second half.
Earlier this season, Alan Shearer called for Nunez to improve his finishing, but judging by his performance against Unai Emery’s side, he still has a lot of work to do in this aspect.
