Liverpool are back to winning ways in the Premier League after beating Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday.

The Reds were badly in need of picking up three points as they looked to capitalise on potential title-rivals Man City and Arsenal facing off on Sunday.

After the embarrassment of last weekend’s loss against Nottingham Forest, the performance needed to much better from Liverpool.

Thankfully, on the whole, it was. There were still one or two worrying scenes at Anfield, as Bournemouth came ever so close to scoring on a number of occasions.

Mohamed Salah has been slammed by Troy Deeney for a perceived ‘poor’ performance, while Liverpool were thankful to Caoimhin Kelleher, too.

However, there was far more good than bad, with Ryan Gravenberch once again a standout performer in the Reds midfield.

Liverpool fans trial new Ryan Gravenberch chant

Gravenberch has been brilliant for Liverpool so far this season. Having had a steady debut season at Anfield, the 22-year-old has really come to life under Arne Slot.

Saturday marked his sixth start in a row and for the moment, it seems as though each performance is even better than the last.

There were some slight signs of fatigue as the game wore on, with Gravenberch overhitting one or two easy passes to teammates.

But proceeding that was yet another exceptional all-round midfield performance from the Dutchman.

Perfectly showcasing his ability to shake off markers and glide forward with the ball, Gravenberch looked every bit the No.6 Liverpool are in need of.

In fact, to some in the Anfield crowd, it seems as though Gravenberch may have even resembled one of Liverpool’s best midfield operators of recent years.

Taking to X during the game, journalists Ian Doyle reported that those in attendance at Anfield had begun chanting Gravenberch’s name to the tune of the old Gini Wijnaldum song.

“Ryan Gravenberch has been afforded the Gini Wijnaldum song by the Kop,” says Doyle.

Ryan Gravenberch continues rapid Liverpool rise

Rewind just a month or so, and nobody at all would have foreseen the turnaround Gravenberch has enacted at Liverpool.

Within the space of a few short weeks, the former Ajax prospect has suddenly transformed into one of Liverpool’s key players.

Gravenberch was at it again on Saturday and on this evidence he isn’t losing his starting spot any time soon.

Of course, his run in the side is likely to end next Wednesday. While Gravenberch was given game time in the Carabao Cup last year, he is now part of Slot’s first XI. He will surely be rested against West Ham.

That alone is testament to rise that we haven’t seen in Red for quite some time. Long may it continue. Do, do, do, do do do do, Ryan Gravenberch!
