Liverpool player makes claim after Carabao Cup final loss that Arne Slot has already will disagreed with

Liverpool’s hopes of winning a domestic double this season came to a crushing end on Sunday after Newcastle United swept the Reds aside.
Goals from Dan Burn and rumoured Liverpool target Alexander Isak endured that Newcastle ended their 70-year wait for a domestic title as Federico Chiesa’s late consolation goal did little to inspire the Anfield side to a dramatic comeback.
With the international break now upon us, it will be some time before Liverpool next takes to the field, with the Merseyside derby at the start of April the next time Arne Slot’s side will suit up in the Premier League.
And Caoimhin Kelleher has shared an interesting opinion on the March international break that Slot has already disagreed with.
Caoimhin Kelleher says international break will do Liverpool some good
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper suggested that the international break has come at an ideal time for the Reds, with Kelleher saying the break from club football could do a lot mentally for the squad.
With the last international break coming in November, it has been some time since Liverpool’s best players were away from Anfield and playing with their national teams, with the break this month potentially coming at the right time for those who need time away from the Premier League.
And Kelleher seems to agree with this line of thinking, with the Liverpool shot-stopper seemingly ready for a break of sorts with Ireland before returning to Merseyside ahead of the final push for the Premier League title.
Kelleher said: “It’s been a tough week for us but maybe the internationals come at a good time for us now to get away and just clear our heads and come back refreshed and ready to go in two weeks. Big things to play for when we get back, so we’ll be ready to go.”
Arne Slot has already disagreed with Liverpool going away for internationals
Kelleher might be ready for the international break as well as a few other players who either need the rest or are looking for match fitness ahead of the final two months of the Premier League, yet one Anfield figure who isn’t too keen on players leaving for national team duty is Slot.
Slot made it clear that he wants to face Everton as soon as possible after Sunday’s Carabao Cup final loss to Newcastle, with the Dutch coach keen to get back to winning ways after such a big loss in a showpiece game.
Indeed, Liverpool will get their chance to return to their best selves after the international break, and as mentioned by Kelleher, a few weeks away from the Premier League could end up doing the Reds a lot of good in the grand scheme of things.
