After a strong fourth-place finish last season, the Lady Reds kick off the 2024-25 season today and it's free to stream online.
The Women's Super League is in the midst of its opening weekend and Liverpool Women are set to kick off their 2024-25 season against Leicester City at their new home, St. Marys, against Leicester City.
This time around, Matt Beard's Reds will be looking to build on a strong fourth-place finish last season and target a push into the top three that would bring with it Champions League qualification, and the season opener at 2PM GMT (9AM EST) will be available to stream for free on the WSL's Youtube channel.
"There's always excitement ahead of a new season and we're all looking forward to playing our first Barclays Women's Super League game at St Helens," Beard told the fans today in his pre-match notes.
"I'm pleased with our pre-season. We start against Leicester City, who have always been a tough team to play. I have been really impressed with them in pre-season. I watched the West Ham game and it could have been a cricket score that day.
"Getting off to a good start isn't the be-all and end-all but it is important. I think the opening-day win at Arsenal set us up to really kick on last year. It definitely gave us confidence, especially the younger players.
"Of course, we want to start the season with a win and if we can't get that, we want to get at least a point, but our ambition is to win every game that we play in."
