'Maybe': Ibrahima Konate jokingly hits back at Amazon after being left out of Premier League debate

Liverpool’s brilliant form so far this season has been built on the back of a rock solid defence.
The Reds have conceded just six goals in 11 Premier League matches, comfortably making them the leanest side in the division.
For all but 90 minutes of those 11 games, Liverpool have been able to rely on a Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk partnership.
The two centre-backs have been colossal for Liverpool to catapult them to the top of the Premier League table.
And although the Dutchman has been his usual imperious self, Konate has arguably outshone Van Dijk to this point of the campaign.
Nevertheless, the Frenchman is still not getting his due in some areas, and he is not happy about it.

Ask Liverpool supporters, and they will tell you that they have the best two defenders on the planet right now.
Van Dijk speaks for himself and has been the best in the business for years now. But Konate has been a revelation under Arne Slot.
Others have a different opinion, with Micah Richards claiming Arsenal have a better pairing than Liverpool.
And according to Amazon Prime Sport, there are fully four better centre-backs in the Premier League than Konate.

Posting on Instagram on Tuesday, the streaming outlet pose a question for fans. “Best Premier League centre-back right now?” they query, with a photo containing four options: William Saliba, John Stones, Ruben Dias and Van Dijk.
“Where’s Konate?” one supporter implores, with the Liverpool No.5 surprisingly appearing to answer his question.
“In Bundesliga maybe,” says Konate, much to the delight of many Instagram users.
Who is the best centre-back in the Premier League?
Konate has had a good week. The 25-year-old captained France for the very first time from the start of a game on Sunday.
Konate was filmed giving a rousing speech in the dressing room before that game and is clearly growing into a leadership role.
This can only help Liverpool, and if the former RB Leipzig stopper can continue the form he is currently in, it won’t be long at all before he does show up as a permanent fixture in debates such as the one posed by Amazon.
Van Dijk already holds that status, but with Konate coming of age alongside him, it’s possible that the younger centre-back could one day take the mantle.
In our opinion, Virgil is quite comfortably clear of every name on Amazon’s list. Right now, we’d put Ibou in second. Time to put some respect on his name.
