Liverpool managed a 2-2 draw against Manchester United, with Mohamed Salah once again on the scoresheet for the Reds.

The Egyptian international bagged his 21st goal in all competitions from the spot as Salah once again provided a magic moment to inspire Liverpool to a result, with the Reds likely happy with the point given how poorly they played.

With Pat Nevin noting that Salah looked like he was loving every second of Liverpool’s game against United, the winger’s body language seemed to suggest that the attacker could be ready to finally sign a new contract after weeks of speculation.

However, Liverpool fans are not happy with what they have seen from Salah after his latest post on social media.

Salah draws anger from Liverpool fans after wordless Instagram post

Taking to Instagram, Liverpool fans were left angry with Salah after the winger posted an wordless image featuring himself, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, the two other players who are current set to become free-agents.

One Liverpool fan replied: “This has to be intentional… right?” Whilst another eagle-eye supporter posted: “This is Mo making a statement without making a statement,” with many other fans believing that the post is a subtle message to the Reds’ board.

Indeed, Real Madrid’s interest in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold has hit new levels since the opening of the transfer window, with Virgil van Dijk yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool despite promising signs at the end of 2024 that the captain would renew with the Reds.

As for Salah, the Liverpool winger’s agent was at Anfield this weekend with more transfer talks expected between the Egyptian and the Merseyside giants, and the 32-year-old’s post could only add more fuel to the fire heading into the coming weeks.

Liverpool must be reaching breaking point with Salah’s contract

To say Salah has been dropping hints about his future would be an understatement, with the winger’s latest moment on social media something that will catch the eye of the higher-ups at Liverpool.

And with the January window now upon us, the Premier League leaders will feel like they’re about to reach a breaking point with Salah’s contract, with the winger now allowed to talk to foreign clubs to discuss a pre-contract agreement.

Time is running out for Liverpool, and supporters will hope this latest stunt from Salah is enough to get the Reds to offer the winger what he deserves after such an incredible season leading the line for Arne Slot’s side.
