Liverpool star Mohamed Salah took his goals tally for the season to seven after scoring a penalty in the 2-1 win against Chelsea.

Gary Neville accused Salah of diving against Chelsea, but the Liverpool winger won't be paying too much attention after helping the Reds secure a huge three points.

He fired in from the spot after a foul on Curtis Jones, but the Blues did manage to equalise at Anfield through Nicolas Jackson.

But Salah then turned provider for Jones as the Liverpool midfielder guided an effort home to clinch another victory for Arne Slot.

The Merseyside outfit remain top of the Premier League table after the win, and now move on to Champions League action.

"I was talking before the game about Cole Palmer. Salah's shocked me in the sense of his consistency and his reliability of his goals, his assists over such a long period of time. When he first came to Liverpool, you would have never imagined he would get to this sort of superstar level that he has, this world-class level.

"And Cole Palmer is doing that now, 15, 16 months in, another six, seven years to go to get to that level whereby he can be deemed as sort of a superstar world-class player like Salah, when you do that over a period of time.

"And he is a great player for Cole Palmer to look at. He holds that frontline together in terms of his composure, Salah. He hangs on his right-hand side, his strength, his quality."

Chelsea star Palmer is already shining brightly on the big stage, but he can still learn a lot from his fellow attacker Salah.

The stunning numbers have helped Liverpool to huge success in recent years, with the Anfield faithful desperate for his goals and assists to continue.

Very worryingly, however, Salah will see his contract expire next summer, with the Reds in real danger of losing their talisman for free at the end of the season.

The winger joined the club from Roma in 2017, having played for the Italian side after just two goals from his 19 Chelsea appearances.
