Liverpool sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League after yet another incredible win against one of the division’s biggest sides.
The Reds came out 6-3 winners against Tottenham on Sunday with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah both scoring braces in one of the most entertaining fixtures of the season so far, with Liverpool top of the table going into Christmas.

With Gary Neville in awe of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s passing ability for Liverpool, the result was one of Arne Slot’s best yet since making the move to Merseyside this summer, with the Dutch manager once again showing why he has been the perfect successor for Jurgen Klopp.
And Dominik Szoboszlai has shared what Slot has done at Liverpool that nobody expected the 44-year-old to do.
Szoboszlai says nobody predicted Slot to be this good at Liverpool
Speaking to the Premier League’s official website, the Hungarian international noted how no one thought Slot was going to be as good as Liverpool’s new manager as the former Feyenoord man has been so far this season.
Liverpool head into 2025 top of both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League standings, an incredible feat given how Slot made just one permanent signing this summer in the form of Federico Cheisa.

And Szoboszlai has hailed Slot for the job the Dutchman has done at Liverpool, with the midfielder saying: "It was even better to play in than watch. The fans came to the stadium and saw nine goals, but we got the three points.
“Everyone is dreaming of this situation but we have seen many times where teams have been in font of other teams. There is still six months to go. We want to be as far ahead as we can. No one expected Slot to start so well but he believes in the team and we believe in him."
What can Slot do in 2025 to improve Liverpool?
Slot’s first six months at Liverpool have been nothing short of perfect, with the Reds in the driving seat for the Premier League, the Champions League and also the League Cup, with a semi-final series against Tottenham on the horizon.
Yet heading into 2025, the Dutch manager knows things can improve at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah saying post-match against Tottenham that Liverpool have to do better at the back if they’re to really go the distance in the Premier League.
Indeed, Slot will have the fully backing from the board to do what he likes in the January transfer window, and making the right signings and sorting out contracts for key players will be at the top of the Liverpool manager’s to-do list in 2025.
