Liverpool maintained their restless pace in the Premier League title race with a 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.
Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo were the stars for Liverpool as the Reds secured one of their easiest results of the season so far against the newly promoted Tractor Boys, with Arne Slot’s side remaining six points clear at the top of the standings.

With Slot pleased to see Szoboszlai on the scoresheet for the Reds, this weekend’s result at Anfield was another stark reminder as to why Liverpool are the clear favourites to win the Premier League this season with the squad they have.
One of the star players in the side is Trent Alexander-Arnold, and former Liverpool star Michael Owen was blown away by one thing he saw from the England international against Ipswich.
Michal Owen says ‘there’s no one like’ Trent Alexander-Arnold after assist for Cody Gakpo
Speaking on Premier League Productions, the pundit waxed lyrical about Alexander-Arnold’s assist for Gakpo to make it 4-0 to the Reds, with Owen saying: “There’s no one like him, certainly not in his position in the world. He’s a special talent.”
With Denis Irwin comparing Alexander-Arnold to David Beckham, the Liverpool fullback’s form this season has been nothing short of outstanding, with the defender proving why he’s arguably the best right-back in the world at this moment in time.
Which is why Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold is difficult for Liverpool fans to take onboard, with the defender seemingly set to make the move to Spain at the end of this season once his contract at Anfield comes to an end.
Indeed, the 26-year-old defender has been exceptional under Slot, yet Owen wasn’t the only pundit to laud Alexander-Arnold for his incredible assist against Ipswich this weekend, with the fullback’s cross truly a world-class effort.
Shaun Wright-Phillips also blown away by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s assist
Alongside Owen was Shaun Wright-Phillips, who was also taken aback by just how good and reliable Alexander-Arnold’s passing has become in recent years, with the defender taking the art to new heights as Liverpool’s right-back.
Wright-Phillips said when analysing Alexander-Arnold’s assist for Gakpo: “What about this delivery from Trent, it’s a dream for strikers, as soon as he gets it out of his feet you just know where the ball’s going to go.”
With Claude Makelele raving about Gakpo’s performance for Liverpool, the Dutch international will want to thank Alexander-Arnold for making his job easier, with the defender in inspired form at Anfield this weekend for the Reds.
