Arne Slot enjoyed a successful night in his first European game at Anfield with Liverpool winning 2-0 against Bologna.

The Reds managed to secure all three points against their Italian opponents despite Bologna giving Liverpool a good game, with Alisson Becker putting on a Man of the Match display to keep the Serie A side at bay.

Another player who impressed on the night was Ryan Gravenberch, with Liverpool fans impressed with what they saw from the Dutch international in what was another fantastic performance from the 22-year-old midfielder.

And even Slot was impressed with what he saw from Gravenberch tonight.

Slot praises Gravenberch after ‘big performance’ for Liverpool vs Bologna

Speaking to TNT Sports, the former Feyenoord manager admitted that he gave Gravenberch some praise after the full-time whistle, with Slot impressed with what he saw from the former Bayern Munich star at Anfield.

Slot said: “I said [to him] after the game, again a big performance. He played really well. In man v man if you have a player who can turn away [from his man] you can immediately have an overload. That happened in the first minute when Virgil played it in and he turned away. Ryan was again outstanding today.”

With Jamie Carragher comparing Gravenberch to Patrick Vieira earlier this season, the midfielder’s transformation has been nothing short of incredible under Slot, with the Dutch youngster looking like a different player.

And tonight again showed that Gravenberch is on the right path, with the 22-year-old commanding the midfield for Liverpool and impressing for the Reds on the biggest stage of all in football against a good team who came to play.

Gravenberch is getting better with each game for Liverpool

Few would have predicted Gravenberch to be as good as he has been for Liverpool this season, yet the midfielder is proving a lot of critics wrong with each passing game for the Reds.

The Ajax academy graduate has been a revelation for Liverpool this season with Gravenberch making himself undroppable for Slot in the midfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister.

And with Gravenberch improving every match for Liverpool, there’s no telling how far the youngster can go with the Anfield side, with the midfielder’s potential seemingly limitless.
