'Pushing': £62.5m Liverpool player is being encouraged to leave Anfield by his girlfriend - journalist

Liverpool are set to see many players leave the club this summer.
The biggest exit will, of course, be Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving for Real Madrid as Liverpool are still hopeful of tying Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk down to new deals ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
There is also doubt over the future of Luis Diaz at Liverpool as the Colombian star is out of contract with the Reds in 2027 and being 28, the Merseyside club are not expected to offer the winger new terms; therefore, the Premier League leaders may look to sell ahead of next season.
Diogo Jota’s future is also up in the air, while Harvey Elliott was the subject of interest of several clubs last summer. It remains to be seen if the Englishman pushes for a move away form Anfield, as the youngster has been barely used by Arne Slot.
In addition to Alexander-Arnold, one man is certain to leave Liverpool this summer and behind the scenes, his girlfriend is pushing for his exit.
Darwin Nunez pushing for Liverpool exit
Al-Nassr bid £62.5m for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez in January as the Saudi Arabian club were determined to try and bring the Uruguayan star to the Middle East. However, the Premier League leaders would reject the bid as they did not want to lose the player mid-season.
The Merseyside club would be doing very well if they sold Nunez for this amount of money during the summer, as the 25-year-old has struggled at Anfield throughout the current season.
Speaking on The Transfers Podcast, Duncan Castles has revealed that Saudi Arabia are aiming to emulate their transfer for Jhon Duran in January with more bids this summer for younger 'established names', which could see clubs return for Nunez.
"Liverpool would be happy if the Saudis came in and would encourage a move for Nunez. They would like to get some kind of significant return on the initial £62.5m (€75m) that they paid Benfica three years ago," Castles said.
"From the Saudi perspective, [Nunez] still has that ability to be a name within the Saudi game and to deliver goals with his physicality.
“Interestingly, I'm told that his girlfriend, Lorena Manas, who is the ex-wife of former Barcelona player Aleix Vidal, has been working with agents to explore opportunities elsewhere.
"So it looks like this is both sides pushing against the same door with Nunez, or at least Nunez's partner, encouraging him to look for a move and Liverpool happy to sell the player with a strong, affluent potential buyer in Saudi Arabia."

Liverpool’s summer spending set for Darwin Nunez boost
Should Liverpool receive the £62.5m Saudi Arabia offered them for Nunez in January, that would go a long way in helping the Reds fund is replacement.
Alexander Isak is Liverpool’s top target and with Newcastle expected to demand over £120m for the Swedish star, the departure of the Uruguayan would half that for the Merseyside club.
The arrival of Isak would be a game-changer for Slot as the 25-year-old is an upgrade on Nunez. The Newcastle star is a ‘complete forward’, admits Liverpool-linked Dean Huijsen, and is more fitting to the Dutch coach’s style of play.
Sales such as Nunez’s will also allow Liverpool to strengthen elsewhere as the Reds require a new left-back, a centre-back and a midfielder before the 2025/26 campaign gets underway.
