Report: Champions League club leading four-club chase to sign £10m Liverpool player in January

The Arne Slot era has been a roaring success at Liverpool so far but one player could be on his way out in January after failing to impress at Anfield so far.
Slot has managed the Reds to the top of the table and after making just a single signing in the summer, can be applauded for leading the change from Jurgen Klopp.
However, not everything Slot has touched has turned to gold and with the January window around the corner, clubs are sniffing around the Liverpool squad.

And according to reports from Italy, it could mean a swift exit for Slot’s only summer signing, Federico Chiesa.
Inter Milan leading Serie A chase to sign Federico Chiesa
According to a report relayed by IotifoInter, Inter Milan have moved ahead of the chasing pack in trying to sign Italian forward Chiesa.
Chiesa only signed in the summer for an initial fee of £10m but so far, has started just a single cup game under Slot after struggling for fitness.
Indeed, the last time Chiesa was seen in a Liverpool shirt was back in September and he’s yet to even hit 90 minutes played all season across all competitions.
However, Chiesa could get a way out as Inter, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma are all apparently keen on bringing him back to Serie A.
Quite whether FSG will sell so quickly after paying to bring Chiesa to Anfield, remains to be seen.
Liverpool should cut their losses on Chiesa
Sometimes, you just the vibe that a player is not going to work out for a club and it very much feels like this is the case with Federico Chiesa.
Of course, he might just be taking time to settle and there are obvious fitness and niggles preventing him from being involved.
Liverpool are believed to be building Chiesa’s fitness behind the scenes. That could, then, indicate that Slot does see him as part of the group.
However, if the interest from Italy is real and someone is willing to pay the money the Reds spent in the first place, then Liverpool might just need to move on from this one.
Slot will likely have a say, though, given he’s unlikely to want his only signing to be seen as a failure so quickly.
