Ben Doak has been one of the breakout players in the Championship this season, with Liverpool receiving some considerable interest for their young attacker.
Crystal Palace are believed to have tabled a £15m offer for Doak this January with the 19-year-old Scotland international making quite a name for himself this season at Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough in their bid to finish in the play-offs.
With Doak winning praise for making the Championship look like a ‘playground’, it’s no real surprise why Premier League clubs are now taking an interest in signing the former Celtic wonderkid, with Liverpool facing something of a dilemma.
However, the Reds appear to have made a decision already on what to do with Doak this January.
Liverpool to keep Doak at Middlesbrough until the end of the season
According to the Athletic, Liverpool plan to keep Doak at the Riverside Stadium until the end of the season, even with Palace and now Ipswich Town making transfer offers to sign the teenage Scottish sensation.
As per the report, Doak will return to Kirkby in the summer, where a decision will likely be made regarding the youngster’s future after what has already been an incredibly productive season in the English second-tier with Middlesbrough.

With the future of Mohamed Salah still up in the air, there’s a real chance that Arne Slot could turn to Doak to help fill the void of the Egyptian international if the 32-year-old does indeed end up leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
And Liverpool have made the best decision possible for Doak in allowing the winger to remain in the Champioship, with Middlesbrough proving to be the perfect club for the 19-year-old attacker playing under Carrick.
What else has been said about Doak this season?
2024/25 has been a huge season for Doak, with the attacker taking his game to new levels for both club and country having established himself as a regular in the Scottish national team at long last.
Napoli star Billy Gilmour lauded Doak after his breakthrough performance for Scotland against Croatia, a game that saw the Liverpool teenager win the Man of the Match award.
Indeed, Doak’s form has been a fantastic revelation for Liverpool fans this season, and the forward could hit even more heights in 2025 with Middlesbrough as Carrick and company continue to strive for Premier League promotion.
