Young Liverpool winger Ben Doak is making quite the impression out on loan with Middlesbrough this season but there remain concerns about the Scot back at Anfield.
Doak is flying in the Championship and has impressed on international duty this week with Scotland as well.
Indeed, Doak impressed Liverpool fans by dismantling Josko Gvardiol against Croatia and there's an air of excitement about the teenager at Anfield.
However, while there is palpable excitement about what Doak can bring to the table, there remains a number of issues within the Liverpool hierarchy over his potential in the long-term.
Liverpool coaching staff have nagging concern about Ben Doak
According to a report from GiveMeSport, Liverpool are happy with how Doak is progressing out on loan.
Furthermore, it's claimed that they'll allow Doak to remain on loan with Michael Carrick's side for now and then come the summer, allow him the chance to impress Arne Slot.
However, while there is plenty to like about Doak, there remains a big concern within Liverpool over his finishing and general work in the box.
It's suggested that Liverpool insiders are unsure on if Doak possesses the ability to score enough goals and subsequently replace Mo Salah.
With that in mind, it's claimed Liverpool could well look to bring a new winger in.
Liverpool getting linked with big players despite Doak form
Liverpool's lack of activity in the summer was always going to see January be a month they get linked with plenty.
And with the window over a month away from opening, the rumour mill is already kicking in.
Liverpool are said to like Christian Pulisic, while the Reds have also made a £17m bid for Rayan Cherki.
In addition, Japanese winger Takefusa Kubo is also on Liverpool's radar.
For Ben Doak, then, it looks like being a make or break summer and season in general.
If he can do the business, then he might just save the Reds a fortune in the market.
