Curtis Jones has been one of the surprise stars of the season for Liverpool under Arne Slot in central midfield.

The 23-year-old Liverpool academy graduate has flourished under the Dutch coach, with Jones recently lauded as ‘sensational’ after his performance against Bayer Leverkusen where the midfielder assisted Luis Diaz brilliantly.

Even with the youngster making just six starts this season for the Reds, Jones has shown enough to suggest that the midfielder could be in for his best year yet at Liverpool, with the England youth international making a real impact with every minute on the pitch.

And Jones’ good form is set to be richly rewarded later this month.

Jones to be named in England’s senior squad for November fixtures

According to the Mirror, Jones will be named in Lee Carsley’s final England squad for this month’s UEFA Nations League fixtures against Greece and the Republic of Ireland, with the Three Lions facing an injury crisis.

As per the report, England could be without Declan Rice, Kobbie Mainoo and Cole Palmer for their international ties this month, opening the door for Jones to be selected after thriving with the U-21s for the last few years.

With Jay Spearing lauding Jones as 'out of this world' after Tuesday’s win against Leverkusen, the senior call-up is more than deserved for the Liverpool midfielder, even with just 600 minutes of action this season.

Indeed, Jones’ form has been exceptional for Liverpool this season, and the 23-year-old more than deserves this chance to play for England at a senior level after grinding his way to the top after all these years.

Which other Liverpool players could go out on international duty?

With 18 senior players called up in the last international break, it’s safe to say that Liverpool will be well-represented in the November window across the entire planet.

Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina), Darwin Nunez (Uruguay) and Luis Diaz (Colombia) will all return to South America for their massive FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with Wataru Endo (Japan) and Mohamed Salah (Egypt) also taking part in key international fixtures.

As for the home nations, Jones will likely be joined by Trent Alexander-Arnold for England, whereas Ben Doak and Andy Robertson will look to get Scotland back on the right path, with Caoimhin Kelleher likely to retain his starting position for the Republic of Ireland.
