The young defender has been turning heads since breaking into the first team last season.

With Virgil van Dijk's contract currently set so see the Liverpool captain disembark the ship this summer, and Joe Gomez allegedly angling for a move in search of playing time after one failed to materialise last year, Jarell's Quansah's Reds stock could be on the verge of exploding in just a few months, as the 22-year old could be one of only two senior centre-backs remaining at the club by the time July rolls around.

Until such a time, though, it's not implausible that the young man, who has featured in 11 starting lineups across all competitions this season and spent the week away with Thomas Tuchel's England squad, might himself be on the lookout for a starting berth in the Premier League. At least that is what Newcastle are gambling on, according to Martin Hardy over at The Times, who suggests Blood Money FC are aiming to lure the Warrington-born defender over to Tyneside with a £30m offer.

Quansah signed a new long-term contract with his boyhood club only last year, and was reportedly subject to interest from the Magpies at the time, so Liverpool are well-positioned to reject or negotiate this deal at their whim. Given how much insecurity there continues to be around exactly who will still be at Anfield next season, it feel unlikely that Newcastle will get their man this year either, but you can rarely rule anything out entirely in this sport.
