Liverpool could be set for a big change in their attack next summer should Mohamed Salah depart Anfield.

The 32-year-old winger remains linked with a move to Saudi Arabia with Salah’s contract currently due to expire at the end of the season, with the Egyptian international likely enjoying what might be his last year at Liverpool.

Given the impact Salah has had at Liverpool since joining in 2017, replacing the winger will be a near-impossible task for the Reds, who have been linked with a number of potential options from Christian Pulisic to now Omar Mamoush.

Liverpool target Karou Mitoma lauded after Brighton & Hove Albion win

Speaking on the Rest is Football, the pundits showered Karou Mitoma with praise after Brighton & Hove Albion’s win on the weekend against Tottenham, where the Japanese international bagged an assist in a 3-2 victory.

Mitoma was linked with Liverpool this summer with the Seagulls’ star viewed as a potential attacking signing in 2025, with the Reds seemingly putting in the work now to find a successor for Salah next summer.

And Mitoma could be an option for Liverpool, with the winger one of Brighton’s best players and an attacker who ha shown he can do a job in the Premier League when in the right system and in the right sort of form.

Lineker said: "Mitoma is back to full form. He is good isn’t he,” with Shearer adding: "He is brilliant. Such a threat. It’s so exciting when he gets the ball, he is just waiting for something. I thought he was really good and really entertaining today."

Mitoma could be an option if he can surpass is his best Premier League season

Mitoma was once viewed as one of the most exciting attackers in the Premier League, yet a poor season last year has now seen many fans even forget about the Japanese international at Brighton.

Which is why Liverpool should only consider a move for Mitoma if the forward can this season prove his worth in the Premier League, with the 27-year-old at his theoretical peak with the Seagulls.

Indeed, Mitoma can do the business in the Premier League and on his day is an effective attacker, and if Liverpool are to consider a move for the forward, the Japanese star needs to put the numbers up to justify a potential move.
