Arne Slot has taken to life at Liverpool like a duck to water, with the rebirth of Ryan Gravenberch arguably the success story of the season.

The Dutch international is thriving in his second year on Merseyside after a mixed first season at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, with Gravenberch really finding his feet this season under Slot as a no. 6 alongside Alexis Mac Allister.

Likened by Jamie Carragher to Patrick Vieira after one performance against Manchester United, Gravenberch’s form this season has been nothing short of incredible, with Liverpool benefiting massively from the 22-year-old’s comeback.

And the midfielder himself has now shared why he is starting to click in Slot’s system.

Slot giving Gravenberch ‘confidence’ to perform for Liverpool

Speaking to ESPN, Gravenberch revealed that Slot is giving the Dutch international the freedom to do his own thing in the midfield, with the former Bayern Munich star saying he is in constant dialogue with his manager on and off the pitch.

With Liverpool top of the Premier League with Gravenberch showing why he’s one of the most exciting midfield talents in all of England, the appointment of Slot has been nothing short of revolutionary for the former Ajax wonderkid.

And Gravenberch has hailed Slot on how much the Dutch coach has helped the youngster unlock hos game, with the midfielder saying: “The coach gives me confidence and sets me up, I just do my own thing. The things I did at Ajax, I do now.

“I discuss all kinds of things with him, it’s mainly about football. We talked last season as well. I have a good bond with him and I’m very happy he’s here. We think in the same way. He likes football and building up from the back. That suits me super well too.”

Gravenberch is on course to become one of the best midfielders in England

Gravenberch’s form this season has been amazing, to say the least, with Troy Deeney the latest pundit to praise the midfielder after the youngster’s performance on Saturday away to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

And if the 22-year-old can remain fit, there’s a real chance that Gravenberch could become one of the best midfielders in England and even beyond if the Amsterdam-born star can maintain this level of form.

Indeed, Gravenberch has been the success story of the season for Liverpool, and the sky truly is the limit for the Dutch international, who is now starting to look the part on Merseyside after a slow first year.
