Milos Kerkez has been a breakout star in the Premier League this season, with the AFC Bournemouth star’s performances attracting interest from Liverpool.

The Hungary international has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting fullbacks in Europe, with Liverpool interested in signing Kerkez as their long-term replacement for Andy Robertson in the left-back position.

With Bournemouth setting an asking price of £50m for Kerkez, the former AZ Alkmaar defender could be a realistic target for Liverpool this summer, who will have money to spend in the off-season for the right players.

And Fabrizio Romano has now shared just how highly-rated Kerkez is amongst officials at Liverpool.

Milos Kerkez on Liverpool’s transfer list of left-back targets

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the transfer guru revealed that Kerkez is high up on Liverpool’s list of targets for a new left-back, with sporting director Richard Hughes having a good relationship with the defender having originally signed the youngster for Bournemouth.

With Ian Wright a big fan of Kerkez, Liverpool know they are onto a winner with the 21-year-old fullback, and Romano’s latest update seems to confirm that a summer move is in the pipeline for the Hungary international.

Romano said: "For sure, Liverpool are interested in Milos Kerkez, he's a player who they like. Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director, had the player at Bournemouth, so he knows him so well, not just in terms of how good he is on the pitch but also how good and professional he is off the pitch.

“For Liverpool, this is absolutely important. Then there is the potential of this boy, Liverpool are convinced that he is really one for the present but also for the future eventually, so for sure, he’s on the list of three or four names they are monitoring in that position."

Liverpool should make Milos Kerkez their first summer signing

With Liverpool interested in making five new signings this summer, the Anfield side are going to busy during the transfer window, with Arne Slot set to oversee the biggest squad transformation in quite some time.

And with left-back as important a position as it is for Liverpool, Kerkez must be the first player the Reds look to sign in the transfer window, with the Bournemouth youngster seemingly nailed on to make the move to Merseyside.

Indeed, all signs are pointing towards Liverpool moving for Kerkez, and the sooner the deal is done, the quicker the defender can adapt to his new side and prepare for the 2025/26 season with the pending Premier League champions.
