Liverpool are back on top of the Premier League table under Arne Slot after a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Brighton.

Arne Slot loved the Anfield atmosphere against Brighton, where Liverpool came from 1-0 down to earn all three points.

Liverpool attackers Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah were on target in the league win, scoring within two minutes of each other.

Slot praised Salah after his goal, with the Egyptian having now scored 164 Premier League goals, one more than Anfield legend Robbie Fowler.

Salah now has nine goals across all competitions this season, with the winger adding seven assists from his 15 matches.

Micah Richards tells Liverpool what to do with Mohamed Salah

From his entire Liverpool career, the 32-year-old boasts a stunning 220 goals and 96 assists from 364 appearances.

And his latest strike left Micah Richards in awe, with the pundit saying on BBC Match of the Day: "He's unbelievable, he really is. He's excellent. 164 goals, past Robbie Fowler, chasing Thierry Henry.

"I mean there's been talk about contracts, whether they're going to renew or not. They've got to sign him, it is imperative they give him a two-year deal at the end of the season. What is he 32 now? He'll be 33 in the summer, it will take him to 35.

"The thing is with Mo Salah, he doesn't have to play well to score big goals and have big moments, and that is the difference between a very good player and a top player."

Should Liverpool prioritise Mohamed Salah over other players?

Very worryingly for all associated with Liverpool, Salah will see his current contract at Anfield expire next summer.

But he isn't the only star player in that situation, with defensive duo Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also running down their deals.

Perhaps their new contracts were not a priority for Slot when he first arrived on Merseyside, having had a very long to-do list.

But it is now November, and the manager should really be thinking about the futures of three of his key players.

In an ideal world, the trio will all extend their current contracts, although it may be more realistic that at least one will leave.

And Liverpool supporters may be split over exactly who they want to stay the most, with Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold massive players for the club.

Salah has, however, saved them time and time again, with the Egyptian doing exactly that against Brighton.
