'Used to go crazy for it': Salah says there's something he no longer cares about as Liverpool aim for PL title

Mohamed Salah is playing arguably the best football of his Liverpool career and has been the main man under Arne Slot.
A handful of players have gone up a level under the Dutchman, but the Egyptian is the one who has produced the most consistently as he continues to rack up goals and assists across all competitions.
Liverpool have offered Salah a new contract and it remains to be seen if he puts pen to paper on an extension.
But in the meantime, the Egyptian has made his intentions very clear as the Reds enter what could be a pivotal period of their season.
Mo Salah doesn’t care about personal accolades at Liverpool anymore
Since joining Liverpool from Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has been one of the most consistent players in world football and has won several personal accolades at Anfield.
With two PFA Player of the Year awards and as many Premier League Golden Boots to his name, the Egyptian has ripped up the goalscoring charts in recent years and looks braced to add a couple more trophies to his cabinet this season.
However, Salah has admitted that his craze for personal accolades is long gone as he focuses on spearheading Liverpool to domestic glory once again.
"In the past, I used to go crazy for it [individual awards] and I almost won many things,” said Salah to TNT Sports.
“But it doesn't drive me anymore, I especially want to win the Premier League more than the Champions League this year. And be a big part of the team winning."
Salah’s stats this season
Salah hailed Slot for his straightforward nature at Liverpool and lavished praise on the Dutchman’s attention to detail.
Mo Salah 24-25 | Apps | Goals | Assists | Mins played |
Premier League | 18 | 17 | 13 | 1.587′ |
UEFA Champions League | 6 | 2 | 4 | 513′ |
EFL Cup | 2 | 1 | – | 50′ |
Even by his lofty standards, his end product has been on another planet this season and his form will be crucial to Liverpool’s hopes of winning silverware.
The Egyptian clearly doesn’t care about personal accolades anymore, but if he carries on in the same vein, he will emerge as the frontrunner for several awards, including the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
