Martin Keown names the games where Liverpool might lose the Premier League title race

Liverpool are ‘big favourites’ to win the Premier League title but could slip up as they navigate a series of ‘tricky’ away matches.
That is the opinion of Arsenal legend Martin Keown who believes his former side still have a chance of lifting the trophy in May.
Now that Chelsea have gone four games without a win, many believe it is a two horse title race between Liverpool and Arsenal, the former leading by six points with a game in hand.
It could have been more but the Reds surprisingly drew to arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday, a match which they very nearly lost in the last seconds of injury-time.
Nevertheless, Arne Slot’s imperious side have lost just one of 28 games in all competitions this season, while the Gunners have floundered amid an injury crisis.
Keown had previously said that he couldn’t see Arsenal beating Liverpool to the title this season, but upon closer examination of the latter’s fixtures he believes there is still hope for Mikel Arteta’s team.
‘There’s a lot of fixtures that Liverpool have yet to accomplish to be champions.
‘Yes, the halfway mark they look like they’re running away with it but they’ve got to go to some very difficult away games as Arsenal have found against Brighton. Brighton spent £200million last summer, that’s not an easy place to go to.
‘I think Liverpool have that momentum though. I was a little bit surprised yesterday [against Man Utd], that might have dented their confidence a little bit. They’re certainly big favourites to win it but there’s too far to go. 19 games to go.
‘They’ve got to go to Man City, go to [Aston] Villa, go to what is a tricky place now in Bournemouth who have beaten Man City, Spurs and Arsenal.
‘They’ve got to play [Nottingham] Forest, the only team that they’ve lost to this season, away from home. They’ve got to go to Fulham and Chelsea, these are difficult away games that Arsenal have already played.
‘Second-half of the season, they’ve got a lot of tricky games. They’ll want to have won it by the time Arsenal turn up at the end of the season.’
As mentioned, Arsenal have played all these fixtures – bar Forest away – recording just six points from a possible 15.
The Gunners are set to travel to Anfield on May 10 and with just two games to go after that, the match could well decide the title – if it hasn’t already been wrapped up.
Keown emphasises that the Reds are still his favourites to win, adding: ‘I really think Liverpool look different class, the front three look really outstanding right now.
‘[Mohamed] Salah, [Cody] Gakpo, you saw the quality of his goal yesterday, so they look the favourites right now. It’s about Arsenal, Saka is a huge loss for them.’
For now, clubs have a little break from the Premier League, with Liverpool taking on Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night before hosting Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup on Saturday.
