Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim expressed his frustration in dramatic fashion after his team's 3-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Known for his calm demeanour, Amorim's immediate reaction to matches usually involves silence, preferring to address issues the following day after a detailed analysis.

However, The Athletic claim that his response to the Brighton loss was an uncharacteristic outburst, smashing the large television screen in the dressing room.

The equipment will need repairs before United’s Europa League match against Rangers on Thursday.

This emotional display has drawn comparisons to Sir Alex Ferguson’s famed “hairdryer treatment,” though Amorim's intensity appeared even more pronounced to players and staff.

Since taking over from Erik ten Hag, the Portuguese manager has had a disastrous run of results, winning just two out of ten Premier League games.

He described this side as the worst in United’s history and refused to change his system to accommodate underperforming players.

His candidness feels like a breath of fresh air. The squad's performance is significantly below expectations and requires immediate attention and improvement.

Amorim recently had a 20-minute meeting with United minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe after the 3-1  victory over Southampton.

Club executives, including Ratcliffe, remain supportive of Amorim, with moves in the transfer market to complement his system.

One such effort includes opening talks for Lecce wing-back Patrick Dorgu, a player suited to Amorim's tactical vision.

As the team prepares for its next challenge against Rangers, all eyes will be on whether Amorim's fiery passion translates into a turnaround for United.
