Ole Gunnar Solskjær hasn’t had a managerial job since being in charge of Manchester United. That’s not down to a lack of offers for the Norwegian, with there being interest from multiple clubs and also national teams in recent months.

Still, Solskjær hasn’t found anything that could convince him to return to management after Manchester United. Whether he just isn’t interested in such a role right now is unclear, but there’s claims from Turkey that he’s just been offered a rather big one and is accepting it.

Beşiktaş fired manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst in December and Serdar Topraktepe has been working as their interim.

Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, a Turkish journalist known for breaking big stories, reports on Thursday evening that Beşiktaş have made a formal offer to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Sercan Dikme, another Turkish jouralist who works for the same Sports Digitale as Sabuncuoğlu, has taken it a step further, and claims: Ole Gunnar Solskjær is about to become the new head coach of Beşiktaş.

‘Ole Gunnar Solskjær is expected to watch the Beşiktaş-Samsunspor match from the stands. He will be in charge of the Athletic Bilbao match. Good luck.’

The news is now spreading out across the Turkish media, and the Norwegian may finally have accepted his first managerial role since Manchester United.

Beşiktaş are currently 6th in the Super Lig and 28th in the Europa League table.
